🌹 Dead & Company Welcome Grahame Lesh for Moving Tribute Weekend in San Francisco

Deadheads, this one hit right in the heart.

As Dead & Company wrapped up a soul-stirring three-day celebration of Grateful Dead’s legacy, fans were treated to an unforgettable surprise: Grahame Lesh, son of founding bassist Phil Lesh, took the stage, cradling his father’s legendary “Big Brown” bass and delivered a set steeped in love, history, and pure musical magic.

The emotional peak came with a heartfelt performance of “Box of Rain,” a deep-cut gem that’s long been a fan favorite and a fitting tribute since Phil Lesh’s passing last October. The setlist only grew richer from there, with Grahame joining the band for “Playing in the Band” and “Cumberland Blues,” sending chills through the crowd at Golden Gate Park’s Polo Field.

The weekend, dubbed Dead 60, kicked off on a meaningful note, what would have been Jerry Garcia’s 83rd birthday. And in true Dead fashion, night one closed with a soul-shaking encore of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” a tender nod to the band’s late frontman and his enduring spirit.
