Get ready, classic rock fans! There’s some incredible classic rock news that’s been bubbling up, and it’s time to crank up the volume. The one and only Bernie Leadon, a founding member of the legendary Eagles, is officially back with his first solo album in 21 years! The new record, titled “Too Late to Be Cool,” is set to drop on October 10th. For fans who have been following this iconic figure, this is a moment we’ve been waiting for!

So, what are people buzzing about? We’ve heard a few questions popping up from fans, especially on voice search:
- “What’s the name of Bernie Leadon’s new album?”
- “When is the ‘Too Late to Be Cool’ album coming out?”
- “What songs are on the new Bernie Leadon album?”
Well, we’ve got the answers! The first single, “Too Many Memories,” was a fantastic tease, and now we’re treated to the album’s second track, “Just a Little,” which you can listen to right now.
This new project is a true labor of love for one of the most celebrated classic rock artists of our time. Produced and engineered by the legendary Glyn Johns (who, fun fact, also produced the Eagles’ first two albums), “Too Late to Be Cool” features 11 brand new songs, all written by Bernie. The album was recorded in a pure, old-school way, with Leadon and his bandmates (bassist Glenn Worf, drummer Greg Morrow, and keyboardist Tony Harrell) all in the same room. As Bernie himself said, “Many were first or very early takes. I even sang live on about three songs,” which gives the album a raw, authentic feel that we know and love.
It’s been a long and winding road since his last solo effort, the 2004 album Mirror. After co-founding the Eagles in 1971 with Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon went on to a stellar career as a session musician, collaborating with greats like Emmylou Harris and Stevie Nicks. He’s a true rock and roll hall of famer, having been inducted with the Eagles in 1998, and he even joined his old bandmates for the History of the Eagles tour in 2013.
The tracklist for “Too Late to Be Cool” is already out, and we’re pumped to hear what Leadon has in store for us. From “Zero Sum Game” to the title track, “Too Late to Be Cool,” it sounds like we’re in for a real treat. While there are no tour dates announced yet, we know he’s playing his first show in a decade at Americanafest in Nashville, which is a can’t-miss for any dedicated fan.
This new album is a testament to the fact that for true artists, the passion for creating never fades. Bernie Leadon is back, and it’s definitely not too late to be cool!
