The Iron Maiden 2026 Tour, officially titled the Run For Your Lives World Tour, is now underway, and it is shaping up to be one of the most significant metal tours of the decade.

Quick Navigation
Iron Maiden 2026 Tour: Opening Night in Athens
The Iron Maiden 2026 Tour launched on May 23 at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, kicking off the Run For Your Lives World Tour in front of a sold-out crowd.
Five songs into the set, Bruce Dickinson stopped and addressed the audience directly.
He told the crowd: “We know a few of you have seen some of this show before. We thought we’d just do a little bit of something different, just for this next song. Because it’s a song that we have not played for many, many years. No, it’s not ‘Alexander the Great.’ But it will be when you go to bed tonight, your ‘Infinite Dreams.'”
The band then played Infinite Dreams from 1988’s Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, the first performance of the song since the album’s original tour in 1988.
That is a 38-year gap between live performances.
Dickinson closed the night with the crowd still on its feet: “We couldn’t think of a better place in Europe to start this tour. Absolutely fโing awesome tonight.”
The Iron Maiden 2026 Tour picks up where a hugely successful 2025 run left off, with Rod Smallwood noting that “pretty much everywhere sold out and over a million fans attending” during the previous leg.
Fans in North America who followed the Iron Maiden 2025 tour will finally get their chance to see what the band has brought to European stages since last year.
The Run For Your Lives Set List: 17 Songs Back to the Roots
Every song on the current Iron Maiden 2026 Tour set list comes from the band’s first nine studio albums, spanning 1980 to 1992.
The focus is entirely on the catalog that built the band’s global audience: no material from The X Factor onward, and no concessions to more recent records.
That decision alone makes this tour unlike anything Iron Maiden has done in years.
The Athens opening night set ran 17 songs and clocked in at well over two hours, with Infinite Dreams landing in the sixth slot as the night’s most talked-about moment.
Bruce Dickinson described the set’s intent: “I really enjoy belting out all these great old songs, and the whole band are loving playing them too! We’ve got all the big ones including Hallowed, Run to the Hills, The Trooper, Number of the Beast, Killers, Powerslave, 2 Minutes, and some of them we haven’t played in the US for over 20 years.”
He added: “Who wouldn’t for a 50th birthday party!”

- Killers

The set opens with “Murders in the Rue Morgue,” a track from the band’s 1981 debut Killers, and closes with “Wasted Years.”
“Rime of the Ancient Mariner,” running over thirteen minutes in its studio version, gives the middle of the set its most ambitious structural moment.

Iron Maiden 2026 Tour: Current Band Lineup
The Iron Maiden 2026 Tour marks the touring debut of Simon Dawson as the band’s drummer for North American audiences.
Longtime drummer Nicko McBrain stepped down at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 Future Past Tour, following his recovery from a stroke suffered in January 2023.
Dawson made his live debut with the band during European dates in 2025 and has been with the full touring band throughout the current run.
North American fans attending the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour will be seeing him perform with the band for the first time on that continent.
The guitar trio of Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers remains intact, and Bruce Dickinson shows no signs of pulling back on the vocal intensity that defined his earlier performances of this material.

Iron Maiden 2026 Tour at Knebworth: EDDFEST Explained
The July 11 event at Knebworth Park is more than a concert: Iron Maiden is calling it EDDFEST, and the surrounding experience is designed to be the flagship event of the entire Iron Maiden 2026 Tour.
Inside the grounds, fans can explore the Infinite Dreams Museum Experience, a walk-through display of stage props, costumes, and artifacts from the band’s 50-year history.
The site also includes Maidenville, an area featuring the largest Eddie’s Dive Bar the band has ever built, a second performance stage called the Maidenville Stage, the Unfair Funfair, and additional themed attractions.
Friday night campers receive early access, including first entry to the museum and a full evening of entertainment before the main event.
Support acts confirmed for July 11 include The Darkness, The Hu, Airbourne, and The Almighty.
It is Iron Maiden’s first appearance at Knebworth since headlining Sonisphere Festival in 2014.
Manager Rod Smallwood explained the choice: “We think that Knebworth is the solution: besides being a legendary venue for historic concerts going right back to Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, the Stones and Queen, it also gives us the outdoor space and control to create something very special for our fans.”
The official Knebworth announcement has full details on the experience, camping, and ticketing for the day.
Iron Maiden 2026 Tour: North American Dates
The North American leg of the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour begins August 29 in Toronto and runs through early October.
It marks the first time North American fans will see the band with Simon Dawson on drums.
The tour opens with two nights at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, then moves through Montreal, Harrison, Boston, and a run of major US amphitheater and stadium dates before closing in San Antonio and Mexico City.
Two nights at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles (September 25-26) represent the tour’s highest-profile back-to-back pairing in the US.
Megadeth supports the entire run of headline shows, making this a historic double bill for reasons explained in the next section.
Anthrax joins as co-support on the larger stadium dates.
Steve Harris’s note on both bands sharing the North American stage: “We had a great time with them when they came out with us on Ed Force One around the world in 2016.”

Megadeth’s Final Tour: A Historic Double Bill
Megadeth’s presence on the North American leg of the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour carries more weight than a standard support slot.
Dave Mustaine’s band is on their farewell tour, meaning every night Iron Maiden and Megadeth share a stage in North America is one of the last opportunities to see both bands together.
Steve Harris confirmed the context: “It is an honour to have them join us on their final tour.”
Iron Maiden and Megadeth have a long shared history going back to the formative years of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, and the two bands collectively represent one of the most complete nights of metal available on any current touring schedule.
For long-time fans of the genre, this North American run is not just an Iron Maiden concert: it is a document of an era closing and another continuing.
Other major 2026 tours worth tracking alongside this run include the King Crimson Beat 2026 European Tour, which is moving through some of the same markets in a very different mode.
Iron Maiden 2026 Tour: South American Dates
The South American leg of the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour begins October 5 in El Salvador and closes October 31 in Santiago, Chile.
The run covers eight countries across Central and South America, with stadium shows from Sรฃo Paulo to Lima to Buenos Aires.
Iron Maiden has a particularly devoted fan base across Latin America, and the scale of these venues, including Sรฃo Paulo’s Allianz Parque and the Estadio Nacional in both Lima and Santiago, reflects that.
Support acts vary by country: Alter Bridge joins in Brazil, Mammoth WVH and Nuclear support in Chile, Raven Age covers El Salvador through Peru, and La H No Murio supports in Argentina.

Burning Ambition: Iron Maiden’s Career Documentary
A career-spanning documentary titled Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition premiered in London on May 5, 2026, releasing to cinemas in May ahead of the tour launch.
The film provides access to the band’s official archives with personal recollections from past and present members, building a narrative of the band’s fifty years that connects directly to the Run For Your Lives celebration.
It covers the full arc: the early Marquee Club years, the first World Slavery Tour, the Maiden England era, the reunion with Dickinson and Smith, and the current touring cycle.
Tickets and screening information are available at ironmaidenfilm.com.
For fans who want context on where this run sits in the broader catalog, the documentary serves as the most thorough companion piece available.
Why Iron Maiden 2026 Tour Should Be on Your List
There are no Iron Maiden 2026 Tour dates scheduled for 2027.
That is the single most important piece of scheduling information a prospective attendee should know.
The current run is the window, and when it closes, the next opportunity is unknown.
The setlist draws entirely from the first nine albums, which means the songs audiences will hear in 2026 are some they may never hear live again: “Infinite Dreams” went 38 years between live performances before Athens, and “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” does not appear on every tour cycle.
Add the Megadeth farewell element to the North American shows and the EDDFEST experience at Knebworth, and the Iron Maiden 2026 Tour represents a convergence of circumstances that will not repeat.
The band’s own sense of the occasion comes through in Dickinson’s quote: “This whole tour has been such great fun. I really enjoy belting out all these great old songs, and the whole band are loving playing them too!”
Just as “Tom Sawyer” became one of Rush’s signature closing statements in their final years of touring, the songs Iron Maiden are performing in 2026 carry the particular weight of songs being played by a band that knows exactly what they mean to the audience.
